The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received a loan from the African Development Fund (African Development Bank Group) towards the cost of Rehabilitation of Timboroa - Eldoret Road and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the contract for Eldoret Town Bypass Study

The consultancy services to be undertaken involves the feasibility study environmental and social impact assessment and preliminary design study of the Eldoret Town Bypass. Under the service, the consultant is expected.

1. To review the existing data on the proposed road project and social and economic activities on the project study area.
2. To collect Social, Economic, Environmental and physical data that is necessary to assist with design of the proposed road.
3. To carry out Preliminary and detailed Engineering survey and design works for the optimum alignment and design standards including preliminary cost estimates and implementation schedule.
4. To carry out environmental and social Impact assessment of the project area in relation to the proposed project.

The Kenya National Highways Authority being an authorized agent of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above services.

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc).

A short list of six firms will be compiled in accordance with the procedures set out in the African Development Banks Rules and procedure for the use of consultants, May 2008 edition.
